Being the most widely used phone in the world has its drawbacks, as people tend to take you for granted. Ask the iPhone 15 Pro Max, please. Apple's finest iPhone hasn't stood out among all the major phone breakthroughs this year, like generative AI, gapless foldables, and Magic Editor photo editing. Although my iPhone 15 Pro Max isn't the most exciting phone I've seen this year, I say get over the staid image of the iPhone! The Pro Max of this year is the most underappreciated phone of the year and is genuinely thrilling.

Is the world's most popular phone the iPhone 15 Pro Max? The year before to the release of the iPhone 15, Omdia claims that the iPhone 14 Pro Max was the most popular phone. We are aware that Apple sold a lot of the two new Pro versions this year, and that for a while they were even difficult to locate. Yes, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will top all smartphones in the globe if it performs as well as its predecessor did.

Unbeknownst to you, the Pro Max is Apple's best-selling product? Thus, it's undeniable that the iPhone 15 Pro Max is undervalued. However, I would also contend that despite being less ostentatious, Apple's advancements this year outperformed the competition in terms of effect and originality. There will be a lot more iPhone 15 Pro and iOS 17 copies in the coming years, as Apple's next devices are sure to cause waves in the mobile space.

That sweet titanium is where it's at

Let's start with titanium. Although not enough, we have already heard that Samsung may employ titanium in its much-rumored Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Ultra is probably going to have a titanium frame, which means that while the back will still be glass, the sides will be titanium. The back of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is covered with a titanium sheet. The vibrant models are anodised, which makes the color a part of the metal, rather than painted or made of glass.

Titanium has a significant impact. It is a pleasure to hold the iPhone 15 Pro Max. With a larger battery inside, it weighs a full 19 grams less than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, while being nearly half a millimeter thicker. In terms of weight, it is more akin to the iPhone 14 Pro than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Another great new feature is the Action Button, which gets better with each significant iOS 17 update. Recently, Apple added a ton of new functionality to the button, such as the ability to open an accessibility feature or a language translator. Though Apple is wise to be releasing these one at a time, I'm sure there will be more. Samsung may include an Action Button with an incredibly long range of possibilities.

Apple's iOS 17 makes a big difference

Actually, this year has seen Apple's software shine through in every way. I have never used a mobile device UI as sophisticated, smart, or current as the one on the new iOS 17. If "things just work" was the previous Apple motto, then iOS 17 may make you declare "things just wow!"

Begin by using the new AirDrop gestures along with NameDrop. It seems magical to bring two iPhones together, enjoy the lovely wavy screen effect, and share my music, pictures, or even just my phone number. It encourages me to look for other iPhone users. I have never experienced such result from an Android phone.
Standby mode makes your phone useful when it's not in use (Image credit: Future / Philip Berne)
Even though standby mode is such a basic addition, I wake up every day using it. In addition to my nightstand charger, I also acquired additional charging stands to put around my home office and city office so I can always have my iPhone charging in standby mode. My iPhone has been my go-to bedtime clock for a long time. The large Pro Max display is ideal, and it's now a handsome bedside clock. It's astounding that Android doesn't already have this.

Just like a backup camera is now a must in every automobile, I believe that every smartphone should have the essential safety Check In feature included in Messages. The Check In tool is quite helpful for easily and discreetly keeping an eye on loved ones. Every time I go on a long drive, I utilize Check In, and I also make my child use it before going out with friends. We both forget things, so even if he forgets, it reassures me that he's alright.

Not the most exciting phone, but maybe the best

I see virtually nothing on the Android side, whereas Apple has made some really significant and helpful advances.
We received more and more of the same from Samsung. We got additional AI features with Google's Pixel 8 Pro, but they're not that great. It also has an enigmatic temperature sensor. Even the most anticipated smartphones, the Motorola Razr Plus and OnePlus Open, were so intriguing because they excelled at making the devices that everyone else was failing at.

Don't undervalue Apple; whereas Android has been circling back on itself and folding in half, Apple has been advancing. For Android to advance, it must take inspiration from Apple's actions.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple's greatest phone, is the most underappreciated phone of the year because it set a new bar.
