The Motorola Edge 50 Pro, the company's upcoming flagship phone, is expected to launch in India on April 3 and has a ton of incredible features.

It should be mentioned that several names for the Motorola Edge 50 Pro are anticipated depending on the region. For example, the phone is anticipated to be named as the Motorola X50 Ultra in China and the Motorola Edge Plus (2024) in the US. As of right now, none of these gadgets' release dates have been specified.

Motorola's X teasers and the Indian e-commerce site Flipkart both claim that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro has additional AI functions, such as an AI wallpaper creator. This functionality looks to function similarly to the AI wallpaper generators on the Pixel 8 and Galaxy S24, at least from what we can tell so far.

powered by AI camera upgrades

Motorola has announced two innovations that demonstrate how it is utilizing AI to enhance its cameras.

The first one is titled "AI Enhanced Images," and it claims to improve the quality of every photo taken with a phone.

The second, dubbed "AI Adaptive Stabilization," is supposed to provide clients with the best clarity while utilizing the 50x Hybrid Zoom and deliver shake-free outputs.

Hardware upgrades

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro's technical specifications include a 6.7-inch pOLED 1.5K display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. This identical screen is billed as the first in the world to be approved by Pantone and will have a peak brightness of 2,000 nits.

The term "pantone-validated" may not be familiar to most people, but it describes a technique used by printers, manufacturers, and artists to quickly choose and match colors. It would imply accurate color reproduction for any shot taken and on the screen of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro.

Regarding the cameras, official information is scarce. However, Motorola has stated that a 50MP primary camera would be part of the triple back camera configuration that has been approved by Pantone. A leak from well-known source Abhishek Yadav has revealed, outside of official declarations, that the phone would also include a 13 MP ultrawide camera on the back.

All of this will require a strong chip from Motorola, and it was once thought that the Edge 50 Pro will ship with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU. On Weibo, Motorola has declared that the X50 Ultra will, in fact, be using the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 CPU. There is no indication as to whether this will apply to the entire range or just the Chinese version.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro's pricing and worldwide release date are unknown. However, given that the Motorola Edge 40 Pro retailed for $800 when it was first released, we anticipate it to be very costly. For the time being, we'll keep an eye out and update this post with any fresh information on the anticipated price and release date.
