There may be a new feature in the future Apple Pencil 3 that would enable a wide range of physical instructions.

Tuesday's release of the iPadOS 17.5 beta code to developers included indications of a new "squeeze" function for an upcoming Apple Pencil, according to 9to5Mac.

These hints may hint at an upcoming Apple Pencil 3, which could coincide with the release of the most recent iPad Pro and iPad Air. This is because the current generation of Apple Pencils don't seem to have any pressure sensors on their surfaces (the Apple Pencil 2 only seems to have a pressure sensor on its tip).

Bloomberg reports that the improved range of tablets from Apple is expected to be released in May.

Apple Pencil 3 Set to Simplify Basic Tasks with Innovative Feature!

The "squeeze" feature of the new Apple Pencil is said to be pressure-based, but it's unclear how it will work just yet. This feature might help users learn how to quickly create text, shapes, signatures, and stickers.

According to other reports that 9to5mac has uncovered, the Apple Pencil 3 could possibly have replaceable magnetic tips.

There have also been rumors that an upcoming version of the Apple Pencil will work with the Apple Vision Pro in addition to tablets.

In October of last year, Apple revealed a less expensive Apple Pencil for individuals on a tight budget. At $79, it's far more basic than you might expect, lacking features like wireless pairing and charging as well as pressure sensitivity, but it still has USB-C charging that works with the iPad 10th generation and a sleep mode to save battery life.
