Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Leak Hints at Major Design Fix

Though it is among the greatest phones available, not everyone is a good fit for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Aside from its expensive starting price, this 6.8-inch device is not the most comfortable to hold for lengthy periods of time due to its angular design and size.

However, it appears that Samsung is planning a solution to address the comfort issue with the next Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, according to the typically trustworthy leaker Ice Universe.

The leaker stated in a post on X that the Galaxy S25 Ultra's central frame is asymmetrically constructed in front and rear. He goes on to say, "The part near the screen is straighter, while the middle frame near the back cover is more rounded," expressing the opinion that this modification intends to make the phone more pleasant to handle.

The width is essentially the same as S24, but the obtrusive large center frame has been reduced. Thus, the visible bezel will get thinner than S24U," the source continued to reveal.

Ice Universe clarified in response to a statement that Samsung will not be going back to the curved display it abandoned with the S24 Ultra. Put another way, based on the information provided thus far, it appears like the frame will resemble the Galaxy Note 5, which was the final smartphone with a flat screen and a pen before Samsung started to use angular designs for their flagship models in 2015.

Naturally, such antiquated style won't be seen anywhere else. A significantly slimmer design along with the same edge-to-edge display as recent flagships are to be expected. Ice Universe revealed in an earlier leak that the S25 Ultra will have a thickness of just 8.4mm, which is 0.5mm smaller than the Galaxy S23 Ultra and 0.2mm less than the model released this year.

The Galaxy S25 phones aren't due for at least another six or seven months, so it's still early days for speculations about them. If Qualcomm's next Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip wasn't included in the phone lineup, it would be a major surprise. In addition, there have been rumors that the Plus model may be discontinued, but we find that very unlikely.

There are rumors of significant enhancements to the camera array, notably for the Ultra, with the 3x telephoto and ultrawide lenses increasing to 50MP from 12MP and 10MP, respectively.

As the release date approaches, we anticipate that the leaks will intensify over the coming months. With the release of six new items at last week's Summer Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung has a ton of new technology to meet in the meantime. You can be sure that we'll soon have comprehensive reviews to read about the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Watch Ultra.
