Brands like Samsung, Apple, Garmin, Google, and Garmin update their top smartwatches in late summer or early fall. Although Samsung and Google just unveiled their hands (wrists? ), we anticipate new models from Apple soon, including the Apple Watch 10 (or X) and the Apple Watch Ultra 3. Launched on August 27, the Garmin Fenix 8 is already available, albeit if you purchase from the Garmin website, it will take two to three weeks for your order to arrive. The price of the watch varies according on the model and size you choose, from $999.99 to $1199.99. A less expensive Fenix E variant is also available; it costs $799.99.
AMOLED and solar-charging are the two variants of the Fenix 8 series; the latter has a memory-in-pixel display that is less brilliant than AMOLED but has a longer battery life. The solar watch comes in two sizes, 47mm and 51mm, while the AMOLED watch comes in three sizes: 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm.
The Fenix 8 is now the priciest Fenix ever, costing double what the Fenix 7 Pro and Fenix 7 series did. It now costs more than the Apple Watch Ultra 2 (from $799) and the Galaxy Watch Ultra ($640).

The primary change to the Fenix 8 series is that an AMOLED and a non-AMOLED watch are now part of the range thanks to the integration of the Garmin Epix line. The Fenix 8 AMOLED's bright display shortens its battery life; in contrast, the Fenix 8 solar, which features solar panels and a memory-in-pixel display, has a longer battery life.
The addition of a microphone and speaker to the Fenix 8 is another significant development. This allows you to utilize the device for voice note-taking, speech commands (such as setting a timer), and voice assistant functionality on your phone.
