The Garmin Fenix 8 is no longer in style; a new, robust wristwatch is here to stay. Amazfit, a producer of affordable wearables, has unveiled the T-Rex 3, a wristwatch that appears to be a remarkable update from the well-liked T-Rex 2, the finest low-cost outdoor smartwatch. The announcement was made during the Berlin IFA 2024 exhibition.

The T-Rex-3 is much more than just an incremental update to the series, featuring a larger and brighter AMOLED screen, an updated stainless steel bezel, and free access to offline maps with turn-by-turn directions. Everything you need know about the new smartwatch is provided here.

Amazfit T-Rex 3: Price & Availability Details

Starting today, September 6, the Amazfit T-Rex 3 may be purchased for $279 from Amazfit directly or through Amazon. That is a $79 price increase over the previous model of the watch, which appears to be entirely sold out everywhere.

The 1.5-inch display on the T-Rex 3 is 16% larger than the 1.39-inch screen on the T-Rex 2, and it has double the maximum brightness of 2,000 nits as opposed to 1,000 nits. That is the same as the recently released Google Pixel Watch 3 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 7.

The 24-day maximum battery life has been extended to 27 days. Additionally, you can now use GPS tracking for a staggering 180 hours without losing accuracy—as opposed to just 26 hours with the T-Rex 2.

Although there is still a 100-meter water resistant rating, the new stainless steel bezel ought to offer better screen protection. Turn-by-turn directions and free offline map access, including contour maps, are further features of the T-Rex 3.

Additionally, users of T-Rex 3 may access two new training metrics: heart rate variability and readiness. Additionally, 170 different workout kinds are now supported by the new gadget. Freediving, Hyrox Race mode, and Ultramarathon mode are among the new additions.

Along with a few AI-backed training features that I'm excited to test out once I get one on my wrist, the upgraded smartwatch now has a new Strength Training mode where you can create unique exercise routines. New sophisticated privacy options for GPS data have now been added, allowing you to better conceal your whereabouts.

Amazfit T-Rex 3: Future Outlook

In the end, the T-Rex 3 has many of the same amazing features and specifications as the recently released, but much more costly Garmin Fenix 8, which has a starting price of $999.

The T-Rex 3 is hard to dismiss for anyone who value a sizable and immersive touchscreen housed in a very durable chassis with an abundance of training options and astoundingly long battery life.

In light of this, I'm excited to get one tested in the upcoming days and weeks and will let you know what I discover.
