Major M4 MacBook Pro Leak: Top 5 Upgrades Revealed

It appears that the M4 MacBook Pro will go on sale in less than a month. By now, most leaks and speculations involve the laptop without any real physical sightings. However, if this startling leak is accurate, then things have changed significantly.

As you can see, five significant changes for the new system are revealed in an apparent unpacking video of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 that Russian YouTuber Wylsacom recently uploaded. Not only do these changes make the new M4 laptop extremely interesting, but I also worry that Apple could have just made the next M4 Pro model appear superfluous.

I referred to the M3 Pro MacBook Pro as the “awkward middle child” last year. That's not to suggest it's a poor laptop; in fact, I think mine is among the greatest MacBooks available. I adore it. Nevertheless, considering the M3 vs. M3 Pro vs. M3 Max versions, most people find it difficult to justify the M3's mediocre performance when they can get by with the standard M3 MacBook Pro for all of their creative demands.

This difficult pitch may become much more difficult if the basic M4 MacBook Pro receives these five purported enhancements.

Come on, let's be honest. I chose the M3 Pro in part because of its formidable matte black finish, which is both practical and intimidating in size. It appears that Space Black will also be available for the basic M4 MacBook Pro.

Because of its 8-core CPU, the M3's power was limited in various ways. Now, the CPU core count is increasing to 10 cores, in keeping with what we observed on the M4 iPad Pro. According to Wylsacom, this might result in up to 25% quicker performance than the M3 processor. This claim appears to be supported by a leaked benchmark.

The absence of a third Thunderbolt 4 connector on the M3 MacBook Pro is one feature that has always annoyed us a little bit. The most of the time, everything was OK, but occasionally the restricted selection was unable to meet our needs for peripherals and extras.

New MacBook Pro: 16GB RAM Now Standard

Despite Apple's claims that a machine only needs 8GB of RAM, the rest of the world knew otherwise. Lastly, it appears like the Cupertino team will be changing this, making 16GB the new minimum. Although it has taken a while, having more RAM will be really helpful for multitasking and utilizing Apple Intelligence features.
