For a few months now, there have been hints and teases that the next OnePlus flagship phone will launch in October. The OnePlus 13 will ship later in October, as a OnePlus executive has now confirmed in writing.

As observed by Android Authority, OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis said on Weibo that the OnePlus 13 will arrive with the "latest Snapdragon flagship chip." The CPU is most likely going to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is expected to release around the end of October.

According to Li, the OnePlus 13 "took a tremendous jump" in terms of overall smoothness and performance release, hitting a level never seen on Android." Based on Tom's Guide testing, a leaked Geekbench score from September that was purportedly performed on the OnePlus 13 revealed impressive results that rival Apple's new A18 CPUs.

He said that Color OS 15 will be available on the new phone, at least in China. The fact that OnePlus uses ColorOS in China rather than the internal Oxygen OS—which is based on ColorOS and is utilized elsewhere—means that this is not shocking.

He asserted that enhanced performance was due to the new Tidal and Aurora engine technologies in addition to the new Qualcomm system on chip. While the Aurora engine is meant to provide smoother animations, the Tidal engine is expected to perform better overall.

Li did not specify when the OnePlus 13 will launch or whether it would just be available in China at the time of the device's formal unveiling.

This year's Snapdragon Summit is being held by Qualcomm from October 21–23. After the summit, OnePlus is probably going to announce the 13.
