The Galaxy S25 is rapidly approaching, and it appears that a fan edition won't be long after.
After missing the S22 FE back in 2022, Samsung has been working to offer a Fan Edition of its mainstream phones (called the FE edition) every year since. According to a new claim from The Elec, Samsung appears to be planning to debut the Galaxy S25 FE in 2025, so things won't be any different. Nonetheless, the report suggests that Samsung could have plans to offer the phone in a Slim variant.
The Galaxy S25 FE is expected to sport a 6.7-inch screen, just like the previously unveiled Galaxy S24 FE. To help slim down the phone, Samsung appears to be planning to employ a broader but thinner battery. The Galaxy S24 FE's thickness was around 8.8 mm, so while the difference won't be great, it will still be apparent.

Other than its specifications, we don't know much about the phone. However, a new rumor from GSM Arena suggests that the S25 FE would come with a Dimensity processor, most likely the Dimensity 9400. Samsung was reportedly dropping for the Samsung Galaxy S25, but if the company wants to cut costs, the phone may use the Exynos 2500. Ideally, the Dimensity chip will provide greater power—possibly even surpassing the Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm—but the phone's cost will probably increase as a result.
We may get a hazy sense of what to expect from the new phone if we use the Galaxy S24 FE as an example. For example, the S24 FE's 50MP primary sensor, 12MP ultrawide, and 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom were all quite comparable to the Galaxy S24's camera configuration. As such, we may anticipate that, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have some significant advancements, the S25 FE will likely feature a camera configuration that is comparable to the Galaxy S25, which is believed to be quite similar to the Galaxy S24.
Though there are still a lot of unanswered questions regarding the Galaxy S25 FE, in the upcoming months, there should be more speculations. The phone appears to be headed toward being one of the greatest Android phones, and we will keep you updated on any new information we learn.
